Denim Pit Jacket

Regular price $250.00 $200.00 Sale

In the 90s the area immediately outside the Harvard Square train station was often populated by punk rock kids. This area outside the train was dubbed, "the pit" by locals and those who hung out there were referred to as "Pit kids". Pit kids had a reputation for causing trouble, being intoxicated, and emulating other punk rock stereotypes.

For some the pit kids represented individualism to the fullest, and for fewer still the most obvious symbol of that individuality were the denim jackets they wore. These jackets or vests (often worn over black leather jackets) were covered in safety pins, applied spikes, anarchy patches, band buttons and more hand made applications. Some had a bandanna collars, an animal print waist band, handmade plaid patches, or hand painted details. Cambridge Denim's Pit Jacket was created to honor the Pit kids and more directly their hand altered jackets.
